18-1695 2PLANNING CASE P18-0259: Proposed Certificate of Appropriateness request by Radames Lamboy, on behalf of Spectrum Space Design, for exterior modification to a National Register and City Landmark eligible building as part of an adaptive reuse from a fire station into a medical office building, including the conversion of a façade window to a door, addition of windows on the existing vehicular door, and a new storage addition on the rear, as well as parking lot landscaping. The project is located at 2211 University Avenue, situated on the northwest corner of University and Franklin Avenues, in the CR-SP – Commercial Retail and Specific Plan (University Avenue) Overlay Zones, in Ward 2.It is recommended that the Cultural Heritage Board determine the proposal is categorically exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review pursuant to Sections 15331 (Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation projects consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards) of the CEQA Guidelines.
